The success of Introverted Parenting Week, combined with the limited time my book writing affords me to write blog posts, leads me to seek guest bloggers. While I can't promise that every proposal will be published, I can promise I will seriously consider each one. I can also promise you a sizable audience, since the blog gets thousands of visitors each month.
Here are some topics I would love guest posts on:
1. Anything Introvert-related, especially as related to:
A. Experiences with Christian community
B. The missional church and life
C. Leadership and pastoring
D. Parenting
2. Art, writing, and creativity
3. Listening of all kinds
4. Spiritual disciplines, contemplative prayer, spiritual direction.
5. Technology and social media and its relationship to spirituality
6. Books, especially by the authors.
7. Anything else - try me!
If you are interested, email me full articles or else send me a proposal in one or two paragraphs. Contact me at adamsmchugh at gmail dot com.

Dear Mr. McHugh,
ReplyDeleteI would like to praise God for leading me to your book and thank you for researching & writing it. I work in a caring profession and could never understand my extreme tiredness at the end of the day, week or my absolute need for 'down time'. I couldn't understand why I was such a misfit at our big local, penetecostal church where the pastor told me to "Just mingle in" on my 2nd visit, as I stood at the end of the service surrounded by chatting happy groups of people who all seemd to know each other. I tried to stay to know Jesus (especially as I had come to this as an adult - I would not have chosen that style of church if I was a little more experienced), but remember sitting in the pews thinking I was "a loser". I can now reflect and see this is not what God wanted for me!
My extroverted ex-husband said he could not understand why I was constantly tired, and was frustrated by my apprehension of social events. I found it impossible to balance my 'draining work' and my home life...Lack of understanding of personality types was not the whole reason for the relationship breakdown, but an understanding of the differences may have helped.
You have given me such an understanding and strategies that I no longer feel like such a misfit...Good news is I now attend a fairly low key traditional church, where I have felt so welcomed, even now running a women's bible study from my home...
Your book has been a gift of self acceptance into my life and I admire your work very much. I am looking forward to living the rest of my life with such an increased awareness of why I am who I am.
